I love jackets, coats, trendcoats. scarfs, hats, boots etc!!! I have bought quite a few over the years..but sad to say I hardly wear it..only those light weight jackets and scarf..coz living in Spore with this kind of hot and humid weather, people will say you are crazy or stare at you even if you are at an air-conditioned place!! I really loved the way how those Hollywood stars are wearing..they are always stylo..even in a plain Tee with torn jeans!! Sigh, I guess I will wear it when I'm in those colder countries..
I know my chance of wearing it will be low but I still need to get it!! I believe that one day I will wear it..haha..
When I looked inside my cupboard(yes, I have a total of 3 wardrobe full of clothes + 2 shoe racks!! my Mum said I can open my own boutique already), I hardly find anything suitable for office wear every morning as we do not have those formal dress code, over the years I have bought alot of short or tube dress (which is sometimes hard to wear to office also)..actually I prefer dress more coz you don't have to look for a top to match your bottom!! Guess I am too lazy to mix and match my clothes. I read up recently in MSN news, the way you wear to work is the way you give impression to others. That's why if I am wearing tube or low cut dresses, I will wear a cardigan /jacket/ scarf over (also bearing in mind the stares you'll get from those " (a)chek-ko-pek" in the crowded MRTs). I love Fridays the most, as it is the dress down day. I could be wearing from big sized Tees with jeans to mini skirts.
Sometimes I pondered what are those woman working as in the CBD areas wearing super short skirts, slippers, tight tops / low bareback or no make up with frizzy hair and showing off bra strips!!! Sometimes I myself is also a fashion victim but I tried to pull myself back if not I will get criticise from my Sis.
I personally feel that if the ladies are in formal wear, they should tied up their hair instead of letting it run haywire. And the shoes!! Yes, those high shoes with very thin heels!! I've seen too much woman wearing thin heels that has already gone slanted to one side due to the way they walk. I believe due to our weight we are unable to walk with our feet straight and we are not models too! High heels do make us tall, but up to the stage it may harm your posture, I think it's best to change to thick heels or wedges!! Affordable ones are like Charles & Keith, Trendy Zone. :) Pumps are also in!! AND the most important thing is if you want to wear G-string, please wear fitting pants etc..if you want to wear low waist jeans..there's a thing call low waist undies..I've seen alot of guys throwing those disgusted looks on their face..!! FASHION POLICE ALERT!! IT'S NOT EVEN CONSIDER SEXY!! AND AND WHAT'S WITH THE COLORFUL PANTIES WITH THEIR WHITE PANTS???
Be in fashion doesn't mean of spending a fortune. Office wear like The Sixtys and don't be surprise that This Fashion is also catching up!!! More and more of their clothes are coming from HK and Taiwan.
And don't forget those personal grooming..from your eyebrows to shaving your armpits hair..keke..do remember to wear lipstick if you don't like make up and most important..the SUNBLOCK!!! Trust me, you will appreciate yourself for putting sunblock down the years..
So what am I wearing exactly to work then?? Of coz is dresses from GG5, Lizzie or Jumper etc. But one thing for sure you will never see me wearing tights over short dresses or tops!! I will prefer stockings..
More long flowly dresses for us please!!!!
I think in this fashion, woman are more fortunate compare to the man. We have more varieties ranging from clothings to shoes to accessories!! So don't be shy to explore new things..
How about the guys then?? They do know how to dress up lately but a big NO to me is they paired their stripe shirt with checkered pants or the other way round..and super tight pants!!! I wonder how do they breathe in it..haha..but I still pity them have to wear long sleeve or jacket everyday due to the weather here. But another alternative is short sleeve with a light weight cardigan or vest. But I think I will go gaga over well built guys wearing tanks over jackets with jeans..sshh..Well, guys really have no choice of clothing..oh ya their shoes are also catching up, with those long duck/alligator shaped lookalike(like our pointed or so called Witch shoes) You can find these cheap shoes at Far East Plaza or D&C but I think those with wider foot will not be suitable due to its narrow shape at the end.
Nobody is born a fashion guru, I myself am not also..but I've been reading up magazines like Cleo, Female etc..hehe
I am still thinking how to wear nice yet smart casual for the office and for other occasions yet it's suitable for the weather here without spending a bomb..sigh!!!..need to read up more!! Will update you guys on my findings...
AND MOST IMPORTANT LESSONS: Dress like your age at least..but nowadays it seems totally opposite..youngsters wearing vintage clothings..and the older ones are wearing hot pants and shorts..must be able to balance well..hehe
Morale: Dress up like everyday is an important day to you!
A must have in woman's wardrode - LBD and jacket!! (I need to correct this..it should be everything!! from tube, to spagetti, to jeans...and the list goes on..)
A must have in man's wardrobe - Jacket and Jeans!!
(a) Chek-ko-pek (hokkien) - term used to describe pervert man
